Larval feeding type: Forms a tentiform leaf-mine on the underside, then feeds in a leaf edge folded downwards; pupates in a silken cocoon away from the feeding area
Larval substrate: Aronia* (Chokeberry), Amelanchier* (Serviceberry), Malus pumila* (Apple), Malus sieboldii* (Toringo Crab Apple), Sorbus americana* (American Mountain Ash)
Comment: So far, the only species in Massachusetts known to feed on more than one hostplant
