Larval feeding type: Bores into trunks and branches, two-year life-cycle
Larval substrate: Castanea dentata (American Chestnut), Quercus alba (White Oak), Q. ilicifolia (Scrub Oak), Q. palustris (Pin Oak), Q. rubra (Northern Red Oak)
Phenology: Adult: 6/02 to 7/21 (27 records)
Comment: Males come well to the General Clearwing Borer lure/pheromone sold by Great Lakes IPM, but they also preoduce a lure specifically for this species.
