Larval substrate: Alnus (Alder), Fragaria (Strawberry), Juniperus (Juniper, Cedar), Picea (Spruce), Larix (Larch), Plantago (Plantain), Ribes (Currant), Rubus (Blackberry), Salix (Willow), Vaccinium (Blueberry)
Phenology: Adult: 8/28 to 9/03 (2 records)
Comment: Very difficult to distinguish from D. citrata from the upperside; the underside shows the most reliable distinguishing characters. It is possible that only D. citrata occurs in Massachusetts, although older records from Eastern Massachusetts may refer to D. truncata. This page shows the differences between the two species.
