Larval feeding type: Leaf feeder, in a spatulate leaf case with a lateral part of the leaf curled over the top of the main section
Larval substrate: Morella caroliniensis (Small Bayberry), Comptonia peregrina* (Sweet Fern), Malus sieboldii* (Toringo Crab Apple), Amelanchier* (Serviceberry), Aronia melanocarpa* (Black Chokeberry)

Comment: See the note under the next species. At this time, observations of larvae feeding on Morella or Comptonia (as typical C. paludoides does) are placed here. All Rosaceae-feeding larvae are placed to the next species, although especially those feeding on Aronia would have to be confirmed either way.
