Comment: Described from Massachusetts, probably from Beverly, Essex Co. (leg. Burgess); According to J.-F. Landry this is a nomen dubium and is probably the same as T. pellionella. Zeller compared it with T. pellionella in the original description and stated it was certainly different to that species due to the stronger forewing markings and in particular the prominent row of black spots along the termen (in his figure, he shows 9-10 such spots from the tornus to beyond the apex), "which are completely absent in pellionella". The wings are a shining clay-yellow; marked brown along costa from the base to about middle. a dark brown spot in the middle of the wing, closer to the costa (according to his figure) and below and just behind this, on the fold, a smudgy brownish spot. At the end of the cell a thick black band extends down towards the tornus, the apical area beyond this is irrorated brown, with the veins paler. A narrow band of brown irroration stretches from the base of the wing along the fold to the end of the cell. The dorsum is more or less free of brown irroration, except at the base.
