Larval substrate: Low growing Salix spp. (Willow), generally in swampy areas
Phenology: Adult: 6/23 to 7/25 (5 records)
Comment: Males of this species have been attracted to S. pictipes lure. It is very similar to S. fatifera, but can be distinguished by the largely black forecoxa, with no yellow scales, and the lack of yellow on the 4th segment
