Larval feeding type: Bark borer
Larval substrate: Low growing Salix spp. (Willow), generally in swampy areas
Phenology: Adult: 6/23 to 7/25 (5 records)

Comment: Very similar to S. fatifera, but can be distinguished by the largely black forecoxa, with no yellow scales, and the lack of yellow on the 4th segment
