Larval feeding type: leaf-miner; larva whitish or colorless, mine long, about 1.5-2mm wide, mostly filled with frass, but often ending in a narrow frass line with the larva distinctly narrower than the mine. Mine not usually following a vein.
Larval substrate: Betula alleghaniensis (Yellow Birch), B. lenta* (Cherry Birch, Black Birch), B. papyrifera (Paper Birch), B. populifolia (Gray Birch)

Comment: Regularly found on Betula lenta
