Larval feeding type: Feeds in the flower and pupates at the base of the seed head or in the stem; it overwinters in the pupal stage
Larval substrate: Rudbeckia maxima, R. hirta* (Black-eyed Susan)
Phenology: Adult: 6/25 to 8/03 (16 records)

Comment: Dissected specimens have so far been this species, not I. similiella. The moth has beend reared from Rudbeckia in MA.

Status in MA (automated assessment): Restricted distribution, uncommon
