Larval feeding type: In a gall on the rootstock formed just below ground level. The gall is spindle-shaped, about 15mm long and 6-8mm wide.
Larval substrate: Symphyotrichum ericoides* (Heath American-aster)
Phenology: Adult: 9/01 to 9/13 (3 records)

Comment: Boston, MA is type locality; during one August around 1910, >150 galls were found by Miss Cora Clarke in the Boston area by digging up the hostplant; This species must still be present in the Boston area and should be looked for
