Larval substrate: Morning Glory (Calystegia, Ipomoea), Chenopodium alba (Lambsquartera), Atriplex (Orache), Polygonum (Smartweed), ?Eutrochium (Joe-pye Weed)
Phenology: Adult: 9/20 to 5/31 and 6/01 to 9/17 (399 records)
Comment: Two or more overlapping generations, peaking in Jul/Aug, adult overwinters. In Sep./Oct, the species could be confused with Lioptilodes albistriolatus, but that species hold its wings differently when at rest, folding the hind lobe of the forewing under the front lobe and holds the wings slightly forwards. Also, the abdomen has a pale central line, whereas in L. albistriolatus has a dark central line.
