Larval substrate: Reported to feed on Cryptoporus volvatus fungus growing on dead conifers
Phenology: Adult: 5/17 (1 record)

Comment: Very similar to the European species E. fuliginosella (L&Z, 1846) and placed under that species by some authors, but the North American taxon is clearly genetically distinct from the European species.
