Larval feeding type: leaf-miner
Larval substrate: Diarrhena americana (American Beak Grass)
Phenology: Adult: 6/13 (1 record)

Comment: Includes E. hiberna Braun, 1948 as a synonym, although the DNA barcode of the NA populations is different to that of the European E. subalbidella. Furthermore, the NA specimens are dark with a white fascia across the wing, whereas European specimens are uniformly ochreous or light brown (the occasional darker specimen can show an indication of a paler centrl fascia).
