Larval feeding type: Petiole miner, forming a round gall
Larval substrate: Populus grandidentata* (Bigtooth Aspen), P. tremuloides* (Quaking Aspen)
Phenology: Adult: 5/15 (1 record)
Comment: Note that galls like this on other Populus species, such as P. balsamifera and P. trichocarpa belong to Ectoedemia canutus. This species has not yet been found in Massachusetts, but it could occur.
