Larval substrate: On fungi, especially those that grow on trunks blackened from fire
Phenology: Adult: 6/11 to 8/26 (7 records)
Comment: Inhabits pine barrens, especially recently burnt areas. Very similar to the very common C. palliatricula. A guide to distinguishing the two species can be found here
