Larval feeding type: Upperside leaf-mine, pupates in the mine
Larval substrate: Quercus alba* (White Oak), Q. ilicifolia* (Scrub Oak), Castanea dentata
Phenology: Adult: 6/13 to 8/06 (14 records)

Comment: Very similar to C. picturatella, but can be easily distinguished by the lack of block spots on the upperside of the hind-tarsi (they are completely white)

Status in MA (automated assessment): Fairly widespread, fairly common
Status in N. America: Native
