Larval substrate: Unknown
Phenology: Adult: 7/09 to 9/12 (3 records)
Comment: A characteristic species with three black dots, believed to be this species (matches well the original description and illustration), although similar-looking individuals in BOLD are placed under Calosima lucidella, a pure white species described from Florida. The specimen illustrated also falls within that barcode (BOLD:AAG8607). C. melanostriatella was described from PA and CT. No specimens of the true C. lucidella from Florida have been barcoded (as far as can be ascertained), so the barcode for that species has not yet been determined.
