Larval substrate: Quercus spp. (Oak)
Phenology: Adult: 8/09 to 8/12 (2 records)
Comment: Yellowish brown, spots variable 0 to 2; this is a southern species which has not yet been confirmed for MA (old records from Nantucket probably refer to A. osseella). It is currently known from Florida to Arizona, but the type specimen is from Pennsylvania. Only two 'unipunctella' specimens, both from Florida, have been DNA sequenced and they gave different DNA BINs. One is probably referrable to A. osseella. In general, very few specimens of this group have been sequenced and none further north than New Jersey.
Status in MA (automated assessment): Uncertain occurrence
Status in N. America: Native
MA Endangered Species Act status: None
First Year Reported: 1936
Last Year Reported: 1940
