Larval substrate: herbaceous plants and greenhouse ornamentals, incl. Pelargonium (Geranium), Antirrhinum (Snapdragon), Scrophularia (Figwort)
Phenology: Adult: 5/13 to 8/02 (4 records)

Comment: Similar to Platyptilia carduidactylus, but more variable and generally less plain, with the prominent triangular forewing blotch the same color as the subterminal band

Status in MA (automated assessment): Restricted distribution, rare
Status in N. America: Native
