Larval substrate: Various deciduous trees and shrubs, incl. Alnus incana (Speckled Alder), Betula papyrifera (Paper Birch), Malus (Apple), Myrica gale (Sweetgale), Populus tremuloides (Quaking Aspen), Rhododendron, Ribes (Currant), Salix (Willow), Vaccinium (Blueberry)
Phenology: Adult: 10/01 to 5/28 (7 records)

Comment: Adult overwinters; the current synonym "fishiana Fernald, 1882" may be the correct name for Massachusetts specimens

Status in MA (automated assessment): Restricted distribution, uncommon
Status in N. America: Holarctic
