Larval feeding type: Feeds singly within a shelter formed from longitudinally rolled leaves spun together
Larval substrate: Malus (Apple), Prunus serotina (Black Cherry), Ribes (Currant), Salix (Willow), Vaccinium (Blueberry)
Phenology: Adult: 7/19 (1 record)
Comment: Adults cannot be distinguished from the next species without dissection. In Europe it flies in a single generation from June to August. The larva is distinguishable from that of R. prunivorata by its paler, less contrasting coloration, although it is quite variable and in some forms it may be more difficult to certain of the id. It does not however feed communally like R. prunivorata. Due to confusion in the past between these species, the hostplant data may not be accurate.
