Phenology: Adult: 4/29 to 6/30 and 7/13 to 9/07 (184 records)

Comment: P. p. occiduaria (Walker, 1861) has for a long time considered to be an American subspecies of P. pulveraria. However, the American population appears to be sufficiently distinct genetically from its European counterpart to deserve species status and there are also small differences in the genitalia.
