Comment: This species is very similar to the other buttonbush feeder, M. solomoni. It can be distinguished by the number of apical white rings on the antennae. M. cephalanthiella has 5 white rings, including the one at the tip, and there is a large gap between that one and the next 4 evenly spaced rings. In M. solomoni, there are 6 more-or-less evenly spaced white rings.
