Larval substrate: Salix purpurea* (Basket Willow), Salix sericea* (Silky Willow), Populus tremuloides* (Quaking Aspen), Populus sp.* (Cottonwood)
Phenology: Adult: 6/14 to 9/17 and 10/01 to 5/03 (46 records)

Comment: Likely overwinters as adult, larvae in June (?) and September/October. North-east American populations appear to be genetically distinct from Eurasian C. stigmatella (distance >6%).
