Larval feeding type: Leaf-miner. The mine is initially linear, but then leads into a blotch, sometimes incorporating the earlier mine. It pupates in a case made from a leaf cut-out. The larva is whitish, with a black head. The pupal cut-out is usually about 3-4mm long and is smooth, lacking a central ridge. It is attached to the pupation site by three silken threads extending from one end.
