Larval substrate: Phylloxera aphid galls on Carya sp. (Hickory)
Phenology: Adult: 4/28 to 6/03 (15 records)
Comment: In MA, this species only flies early in the year, mainly in May. This conflicts with the original description of A. busckiella, which was found in July and August in Maryland. So this is probably not true A. busckiella (but we keep it under this name for now). This taxon probably falls within BOLD:AAA8938, but that BIN appears to be heterogeneous and may contain more than one species. This is on average a larger species than aphidiella, up to 20mm wingspan. Charley Eiseman incidentally reared one specimen of this species from a Phylloxera aphid gall on hickory. However, the exact feeding mode remains unknown.
